Identity Checks
Why does Red Deer Casino verify its players?
1.1 Accounts are opened only for players located where online gaming is lawful, and we follow Canadian rules on identity, age and anti-money laundering. Verification is how we meet these obligations.
1.2 These checks confirm that every account is held by a real adult aged 19 or older, that play happens from a permitted location, and that all funds passing through the Cashier are legitimate.
1.3 Verification also protects you. It prevents others from opening accounts in your name, from using your payment methods or from taking your winnings.
Which identity and age checks do you carry out, and what documents are needed?
2.1 To register, you provide your full name, residential address and date of birth. We verify these details electronically before your first deposit, and geolocation confirms your location.
2.2 Where an electronic match is not possible, or where our records require it, we request documents through your account. These typically include:
- Identity: a valid photo document issued by a government, showing the holder's full legal name and date of birth.
- Address: a recent utility bill, official letter or bank statement showing the name and home address that match your account.
- Payment ownership: evidence that a deposit method belongs to you. For a Visa or Mastercard card, this means an image of the front with the middle digits and the security code covered. For MuchBetter, Jeton, Interac e-Transfer, eCheck or Google Pay, a screenshot or statement displaying your name and account details.
2.3 Documents must be clear, uncropped, in colour and unaltered. We may request a live selfie holding your identity document where a match cannot be confirmed otherwise.
2.4 We pay withdrawals only to verified methods held in your name. Our General Terms set out our Cashier standards, including a C$20 minimum withdrawal and a C$10 000 monthly maximum.
Do you continue to check my account after I am verified?
3.1 Yes. Verification is not a single event. We monitor deposits, withdrawals and gameplay on an ongoing basis to identify activity that does not fit an account's usual profile.
3.2 The signals we watch for include withdrawals soon after deposits with little play, frequent changes of payment method, use of third-party payment methods, sudden increases in deposit size and access from locations from which players are not accepted.
3.3 If your circumstances change, such as a new address or a new name, please update us by email so your records stay accurate. Outdated details can delay withdrawals.
What records do you keep, and what are your reporting duties?
4.1 We keep records of verification, transactions and account activity for the periods Canadian law requires. These records are held securely, and access is restricted to staff who need them for compliance work.
4.2 When Canadian law requires it, suspicious or large transactions are reported to the competent Canadian authorities. Because the law forbids us from disclosing such a report to the player concerned, we can neither confirm nor deny that one has been made.
4.3 How we collect, store and protect personal information is explained in Your Privacy.
What is the reason for asking about the source of my funds?
5.1 If deposits are high relative to an account's history, or our monitoring flags a query, we may ask you to show where your playing money comes from, together with evidence of the overall wealth behind your play.
5.2 Acceptable evidence can be recent payslips, bank statements, tax documents, proof that property or investments were sold, or documentation of an inheritance.
5.3 While such a request is open, we may pause deposits or withdrawals. We aim to complete the check promptly once complete documents arrive.
Are accounts screened against sanctions lists and checked for politically exposed persons?
6.1 Every account is checked against Canadian and international sanctions lists when it is opened and at regular intervals afterwards. Anyone named on these lists is refused an account.
6.2 Our screening also covers politically exposed persons, their family members and close associates. Such accounts are not declined automatically. They are instead subject to enhanced due diligence, including a source of funds check, and play can only continue after senior approval.
What happens if verification cannot be completed?
7.1 If documents are missing, unreadable or inconsistent, we will explain by email what is outstanding. Until it is resolved, deposits, play or withdrawals may be paused.
7.2 Where verification cannot be completed, or we discover that the information provided was false, the account will be closed. Any winnings obtained through false details or on a duplicate account are void.
7.3 Where we suspect fraud or money laundering, we may withhold funds while we meet our legal duties, and we may share information with the competent authorities.
7.4 Players under 19 are handled under our 19+ Policy.
How do I contact the verification team?

8.2 Contact us from the email address registered to your account and state your username. Do not include complete card numbers or CVV codes in any email.
8.3 Your account is also subject to our General Terms and Promotion Terms, and Your Privacy explains how we handle the documents you submit.
