19+ Policy
Who is allowed to play at Red Deer Casino?
1.1 Red Deer Casino is open only to adults aged 19 and over. Players under 19 may not register, deposit, play or claim any promotion, including the welcome offer and Red Deer Rewards.
1.2 Our services are offered only where online gaming is lawful, and we follow Canadian rules on identity, age and anti-money laundering. Where local law sets a minimum age higher than 19, the higher age applies.
1.3 Registering with false details in order to get around this rule is a serious breach of our General Terms. Any account opened in this way is closed.
How do you check a player's age?
2.1 Opening an account requires your full name, residential address and date of birth. We reject any date of birth showing an age under 19.
2.2 We accept deposits only once your age and identity have been verified electronically and geolocation has confirmed your location. Should the electronic check fail to find a match, we will ask for a government-issued photo identity document that shows your date of birth.
2.3 We may carry out further age checks at any stage, for example when account details change, when a payment method appears to belong to someone else, or when there are signs that a younger person is using the account.
2.4 The full verification process is described on our Identity Checks page.
How can I keep minors safe on a device I share?
3.1 Computers, tablets and phones in a home are often used by several people. If a younger person in your household can reach your device, please take these steps:
- sign out when each session ends instead of just closing the browser tab;
- do not let the browser save your Red Deer Casino password;
- keep your email account and payment apps protected with a passcode, so they cannot be used to reset your login or fund a deposit;
- secure your device with a PIN, a pattern or a fingerprint;
- do not play in front of children or present casino games as a pastime for them.
3.2 You are responsible for activity on your account. Allowing anyone else, of any age, to use it breaches our General Terms.
3.3 Our marketing is directed at adults only. We do not design promotions to attract minors, nor do we advertise where young audiences are the focus.
Which parental controls and filtering tools can help?
4.1 Most devices have parental controls built into the operating system. These let you create separate profiles for children, restrict which apps they can install and set screen-time limits.
4.2 App stores let you restrict downloads by age classification and require a password for purchases.
4.3 Many home routers and internet providers offer network-level filtering that blocks gambling sites on every device connected to your home connection.
4.4 Dedicated filtering software is also available, and browsers offer settings to restrict access to adult content.
4.5 No filter is perfect. Controls work best alongside open conversation with young people about gambling and money.
What if a minor is discovered on an account?
5.1 Should we discover, or have reasonable grounds to suspect, that someone under 19 has registered or played, we suspend the account immediately pending an investigation.
5.2 Where underage play is confirmed:
- the account is closed and cannot be reopened;
- all bets are void and all winnings are forfeited;
- where permitted by law, deposits are returned to the original payment method;
- any promotion, free spins or Red Deer Rewards points are cancelled.
5.3 Where an adult knowingly lets a minor access their account, we will close that adult's account as well and may take any further action the law permits.
5.4 Information gathered from a minor is handled as described in Your Privacy and is not used for marketing.
How do I report a concern or contact you?
6.1 If you suspect that someone under 19 is playing at Red Deer Casino, please email [email protected]. Our team will look into every report we receive.
6.2 Please include the username or email address involved, if known, and any details that help us identify the account. We treat these reports as a priority and keep the identity of the person reporting confidential.
6.3 Should someone young you know have difficulties with gambling, GamTalk, BetGuard, the Alberta Health Services Addiction Helpline, ConnexOntario and Gambling Therapy provide free, confidential support. Further details are on our Player Protection page.
